Dr. Chand Nair
Medical Director

Dr. Chand Nair is the Medical Director of Brooke Glen Behavioral Health Hospital since 2005. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry as well as by the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Bombay, India and completed his residency training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and won several awards for clinical excellence. He has been practicing Psychiatry since 1986 and while he is a full time clinician, he has been researcher with 11 peer reviewed full length articles to his credit as well 7 peer reviewed published abstracts. Dr. Nair is recently appointed Assistant Professor (Voluntary Staff) at Drexel University School of Medicine and will be teaching in the IFM-1 course for the medical students and teaches psychopharmacology to CRNP students, Physician Assistant students and Family Practice and Podiatry residents at our campus.

Dr. Venkat Chakkavarthi

Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. Venkat Chakkaravarthi is an attending psychiatrist at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital. In 2010, Dr. Chakkaravarthi graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine with a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. He has received numerous honors and rewards including the Kenneth H. Draper, MD Award for Excellence in Emergency Psychiatry during Residency Training from Temple University Hospital’s Department of Behavioral Health. Dr. Chakkaravarthi has written many publications and presentations and has worked in the psychiatric field for over 5 years now. He has numerous memberships ranging from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to the American Medical Students Association. He is also a member of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Chakkaravarthi is currently the Vice President of Medical Staff Committee at Brooke Glen.

Dr. Hack Chung
Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. Hack R. Chung is an attending psychiatrist at Brooke Glen. He has been practicing psychiatry since 1969 and has been with Brooke Glen for over 30 years. Dr. Chung is licensed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York. He received his certification in psychiatry in 1974. Dr. Chung has been published 9 times and holds memberships to the American Psychiatric Association, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Montgomery County Medical Society. Dr. Chung has his own private practice as well as a full case load during the day at Brooke Glen.

Dr. Freeman
Attending Physician

Dr. Freeman is an attending physician at Brooke Glen Hospital. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, a Masters in Public Health from New York Medical College and a Medical Doctorate degree from Temple University where she also completed her residency. She completed her residency in Psychiatry in 2011 from Temple University Hospital and began working at Brooke Glen in 2011. She has special interests in mood disorders and the effects of endocrinology on psychiatric disorders and plans to continue research in these areas.

Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. Gasteyer has been an attending psychiatrist at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital since 2004.  She is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  After graduating from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine with honors, she completed an internship in Internal Medicine in Chicago followed by a residency in General Psychiatry in New York City and a two year Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship in Philadelphia.  She has maintained an active psychiatric practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings since 1973.

Dr. Raghava Reddy Ghosala

Staff Psychiatrist

Dr. Raghava Reddy Ghosala is the staff psychiatrist at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital since 2005. He is a 1988 graduate of Kurnool Medical School, India and completed his psychiatry residency training from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in Child and Adolescent psychiatry from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (University of Pennsylvania Health System). He has received many teaching awards such as Golden Apple Teaching Awards, Resident of the year, and Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award for Humanism in Medicine and Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Chaudhry Hassan
Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. Chaudhry M. Hassan is an attending psychiatrist and neurologist at Brooke Glen. Dr. Hassan received his MD at the World University Dominicana, School of Medicine in 1985. This gives him over 30 years experience in the healthcare industry. Dr. Hassan’s primary focus is on Neurology with post graduate medical education in subjects ranging from a Sleep Medicine and Epilepsy Fellowship to Advances in Epilepsy for the Developmentally Disabled Population. Dr. Hassan is licensed in Pennsylvania as well as New York and is active with the American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Association, and the J. Kiffin Penry Epilepsy Education Program Alumni Association.

Attending Psychiatrist

Shaneek Johnson MD has been an attending psychiatrist for Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital since 2010.  Dr. Johnson graduated from Simmons College with a BS in 1999.  She later earned her MS degree from PCOM in 2001.  Dr. Johnson graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 2005.  She completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry at Temple University Hospital in 2008 and completed her fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Drexel University.

Inpatient Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. Ramesh Koneru has been working at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital as an inpatient attending Psychiatrist since 2005.Dr. Koneru is Board certified in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry. He graduated from Kurnool Medical college in India .He did General Psychiatry residency  in Allegheny University Hospitals ( Hahnemann and Medical College of Pennsylvania ) in Philadelphia and Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship in Long Island Jewish Medical Center ( Hillside Hospital ) in New York.  He received multiple awards throughout his residency training for clinical excellence and teaching. After his training he joined the faculty at Medical college of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University School of medicine and received awards for Best teacher in Psychiatry.

Dr. April S. Ladavac

Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. April S. Ladavac joined the Brooke Glen Behavioral Health Hospital as an attending psychiatrist during 2011. She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine and completed her residency training at the Temple University Hospital Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science.  She was the recipient of a number of academic excellence awards and served for two years as the Chief Resident for Education.  In addition, she earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH), with a concentration in Epidemiology.  Dr. Ladavac’s clinical interests and areas of expertise also include the treatment of psychiatric conditions during and after pregnancy and the management of traumatic grief, particularly for survivors of suicide.

Dr. Musthaq
Medical Staff

Dr. Musthaq joined the medical staff at Brooke Glen on June 2004. He attended University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and obtained his medical degree in 1990. He trained in post graduate psychiatry program at Mid Kent NHS trust affiliated with the prestigious Guys Hospital in London, England. He later on moved to the US and completed his internship and psychiatry residency at Medical College of Philadelphia. Board Certified in psychiatry from American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2001, Dr Musthaq has been providing his clinical expertise in many regional behavioral healthcare facilities. Dr Musthaqhas several publications in peer reviewed psychiatric journals and authored a book in elementary medicine. He has been a speaker for pharmaceutical companies. He is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Psychiatric Association and Pennsylvania Psychiatric Leadership Council.

Dr. Anil Rai

Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. Anil Rai is an attending psychiatrist at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has received numerous certifications including The University of Pennsylvania and the University of Delhi and Maulana Azad Medical College. Dr. Rai has received many honors and awards from numerous psychiatric associations in Pennsylvania as well as an award by the Indian Psychiatry Society. Dr. Raiparticipates in volunteer programs that help train teachers and foster parents to recognize behavioral health issues in children. He holds memberships with the American Psychiatric Association, the National Alliance for Mentally Ill, and is a part of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group. Dr. Rai has been published 19 times and has 24 years of experience in psychiatry. In his free time, Dr. Rai has been known to participate in programs that help give back to the community, such as the American Society for Suicide Prevention.

Dr. Ann T. Ross
Physician’s Assistant

Dr. Ann T. Ross is the physician’s assistant at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital. She is certified by the National Committee of Certification for Physician Assistants. She scored within the top 10% on her licensing examination, with special recognition in primary care. In 1994, Dr. Ross graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C with honors in the Physician Assistant Program. In 2007, she went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the Fielding Institute in Santa Barbara, Ca. with a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Ross has extensive experience in healthcare.

Dr. P. Venkataramana
Attending Psychiatrist

Dr. P. Venkataramana is an attending psychiatrist at Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital since 2008. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a graduate of Madras Medical College in India. He trained in Birmingham, UK from 1991 to 1997, obtaining a membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1995. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He has been a full time clinician since 1990 and has been involved in teaching Psychiatry Residents and medical students. His areas of interests include Psychopharmacology, TransculturalIssues in Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry.

Stephanie Yoder, Psy.D
Licensed Psychologist

Stephanie Yoder, Psy.D., a licensed psychologist, has worked at Brooke Glen since 2005, first in the Admissions and Referral Department and Coordinator of Clinical Trials, then as Director of Psychological Services, and currently as the Director of Clinical Services. Dr. Yoder received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Widener University with concentrations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Industrial Organizational Psychology, and Psychological Assessment. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University where she worked as a research assistant in the personality lab. She currently oversees the Allied Therapy Department and doctoral students in clinical psychology, provides clinical services such as testing and individual therapy, and assists with programming for the hospital with emphasis on Trauma Informed Care. Through her work with doctoral students, she received the Outstanding Supervisor Award from Widener University in 2011, and serves as Adjunct Faculty at Widener University and Philadelphia College of OsteophathicMedicine. Dr. Yoder’s clinical interests include personality assessment, trauma work, and empirically based treatments for serious mental illness.
