CHILDREN AND PRE-TEENS (AGE 5-12)

Brooke Glen - Children

Childhood for some children can be complicated by mood and anxiety disorders. Some children have had traumatic experiences which overwhelm their internal and external resources. Brooke Glen provides a safe, nurturing environment which promotes coping, healing and recovery.

  • For young children, our goal is to help the child return to their natural developmental progression that may have been delayed due to the presence of psychological disorders or trauma.
  • Every child has developmental tasks to navigate, and at Brooke Glen, clinicians are trained in the stages of development and the challenges facing children at each stage of growth. For young adolescents and pre-teens ("tweens"), we focus on providing support to assist in developing healthy and strong peer and family relationships.

Families and selected school districts are actively involved in the treatment programs enabling the child to successfully return to home and school setting.

Students attend school at Brooke Glen on a daily basis according to their regular school calendar and are taught at the level of ability.
